Configure Developer Flags

During the development process, you may encounter a need to rotate the device screen temporarily or enable the mouse cursor on your device, or blank the screen. KOS Studio facilitates all these operations with a single click.

Developer Flags are ignored for image in production collaboration mode.

Access and view the developer flags for an image

  1. Log in to KOS Studio, and from My Images, click on Open Image Manager (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  2. From the list of images, select the image you want to update and click on Settings main settings

  3. Select the Configure tab from the top menu on the image configuration window.

  4. From the Image Configuration window that opens, select Hardware Settings >> Developer Flags tab

Configure Mouse Cursor

  1. Log in to KOS Studio, and from My Images, click on Open Image Manager (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  2. From the list of images, select the image you want to update and click on Settings main settings for that image(on right hand side for image row)

  3. Select the Configure tab from the top menu on the image configuration window.

  4. From the Image Configuration window that opens, select Hardware Settings >> Developer Flags tab

  5. Under generic flags, update the Mouse Cursor value as per your requirements. Consider following :

    1. You can set the Team flag or Local Override for the image.

      1. Team Flag once updated is reflected to all team member’s images

      2. Local Override will only affect your settings.

    2. Currently, active settings are indicated by the small blue dot next to the active setting [insert image]

    3. Once set to on mouse cursor appears on the device and can be manipulated via a mouse connected to device.

Configure Screen Blank

  1. Log in to KOS Studio, and from My Images, click on Open Image Manager (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  2. From the list of images, select the image you want to update and click on Settings main settings for that image(on right-hand side for the image row)

  3. Select the Configure tab from the top menu on the image configuration window.

  4. From the Image Configuration window that opens, select Hardware Settings >> Developer Flags tab

  5. Under generic flags, update the screen blank value as per your requirements. Consider following :

    1. You can set the Team flag or Local Override for the image.

    2. Team Flag, once updated is reflected in all team member’s images

    3. Local Override will only affect your settings.

  6. Currently, active settings are indicated by the small blue dot next to the active setting [insert image]

  7. Once set to on, once the image is deployed on installed on a device, screen appears blank.

Configure Screen rotation

  1. Log in to KOS Studio, and from My Images, click on Open Image Manager (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  2. From the list of images, select the image you want to update and click on Settings main settings for that image(on right-hand side for the image row)

  3. Select the Configure tab from the top menu on the image configuration window.

  4. From the Image Configuration window that opens, select Hardware Settings >> Developer Flags tab

  5. Click on Add screen rotation

  6. In the New screen pop-up provide the screen name of the screen you will be rotating.

  7. Newly added screen name gets added to the screen rotation flags. Update the value as per your requirements. Consider following :

    1. Following options are available for screen rotation:

      1. Normal : This option keeps screen output at default rotation.

      2. Inverted : This option rotates screen output at 180 rotation

      3. Left : This option rotates screen output at 270 rotation

      4. Right : This option rotates screen output at 90 rotation

    2. Clear selection option is displayed once user selects one of the available option allowing user to clear newly set value.

    3. You can set the Team flag or Local Override for the image.
