Artifact Store Settings

What is an artifact store?

An artifact store is a server for holding KAB files, both published and pending publication. It can function as a maven repository, a file storage space, or an HTTP server, with options for setting up with or without authentication. Organizations can create multiple artifact stores within KOS Studio. To establish an artifact store, an admin user can access the 'Artifact Store Settings' tool from the settings menu, streamlining the process for organizational use.

Artifact Store Settings is only available for KOS studio admin user.

Access artifact store settings

  1. Log in to KOS Studio.

  2. Select Settings main settings from top navigation (in the upper right corner of the screen) > Artifact Store Settings

Create artifact stores

  1. Log in to KOS Studio.

  2. Select Settings main settings from top navigation (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  3. Select 'Artifact Store Settings' from the settings menu

  4. Click the 'Create Store' button

  5. Fill in the necessary information

    1. Name: Input a unique name for the Store (required).

    2. Type: Choose from Maven, File, or HTTP (required) based on the store type.

    3. Description: Add a brief description (optional).

    4. URL or Directory: Enter the URL for a Maven / HTTP server / the directory path for file storage (required).

    5. Requires Auth: Check this option if authentication is needed for the Maven server. This option is not applicable for the File path or HTTP server types.

    6. Access: The lock radio button will be locked for editing before it can be unlocked.

  6. Click the ‘Create’ button to create the Artifact store for the organization.

Edit artifact stores

  1. Log in to KOS Studio.

  2. Select Settings main settings from top navigation (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  3. Select 'Artifact Store Settings' from the settings menu.

  4. To edit an existing artifact store, click on the more options button more and then the 'Edit' option menu.

  5. Upon opening the edit dialog, make necessary changes to any of the following.

    1. Name: Input a unique name for the Store (required).

    2. Description: Add a brief description (optional).

    3. URL or Directory: Enter the URL for a Maven / HTTP server / the directory path for file storage (required).

    4. Requires Auth: Check this option if authentication is needed for the Maven server. This option is not applicable for the File path or HTTP server types.

    5. Access: The lock radio button will be locked for editing before it can be unlocked.

  6. Consider the following

    1. The “Type” field is not allowed to be altered once the Store is created.

Lock / unlock store

The ‘Lock’ feature will lock the entry for editing and deleting; at the same time, the menu option will be changed to ‘unlock’.

  1. Log in to KOS Studio.

  2. Select Settings main settings from top navigation (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  3. Select 'Artifact Store Settings' from the settings menu.

  4. To Lock or Unlock an existing store, click on the more options button more and then click the ‘Lock’ Or ‘Unlock’ from the menu.

  5. Once a Store is locked, a user can not Edit or delete it unless it is unlocked. However, users can publish the artifacts in that Store using the Publishtool.

Delete artifact stores

If the user wants to delete the store entry created can do so by below instructions.

Please note

Deleting a store that has published artifacts will result in a "missing instance" error, rendering these artifacts unusable in any release, device, or image.

  1. Log in to KOS Studio.

  2. Select Settings main settings from top navigation (in the upper right corner of the screen)

  3. Select 'Artifact Store Settings' from the settings menu

  4. Users can delete a store in an unlocked state using the delete option in the more options button more

  5. Click the ‘Deletedelete button in the confirmation message.
